Nationals on the Direct Airside Transit visa list otherwise need a DATV.. Arrive and depart by air with a confirmed onward flight departing the same day from the same airport (max_hours approximate - the legal test is same-day departure); hold the correct documents for the destination.
Transit Without Visa (TWOV) - landsideUp to 48h — Visa nationals arriving and departing by air who hold a qualifying document: a valid visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA with an airline ticket via the UK as part of a reasonable journey to or from that country (or within 6 months of last entering on that visa); a valid permanent residence permit of Australia, New Zealand, Canada (issued after 28 June 2002) or the USA (issued after 21 April 1998, or equivalent US immigrant-visa evidence); a valid common-format residence permit or category D visa issued by an EEA state or Switzerland; or a valid Irish biometric visa endorsed BC/BC BIVS when travelling to Ireland (or from Ireland within 3 months of last entering there). Arrive and depart by air; confirmed onward flight departing before 23:59 the day after arrival (max_hours is approximate - the legal test is the 23:59 next-day deadline); hold the correct documents for the destination. Other countries' e-visas and e-residence permits are not accepted for landside transit. Nationals eligible for an ETA need an ETA to pass through UK border control in transit.
