The fastest integration is not an API call at all. Two lines of HTML give your readers a working visa checker — they pick a passport and a destination and get the requirement, the allowed stay, and a link to the full rules with sources.

The API
One HTTP request per answer. The free tier is for testing and light use; the paid tier is x402 — the unpaid request returns 402 with a payment offer, you pay $0.03 in USDC on Base, and the answer comes back with an on-chain receipt. There is no registration step, no API key and no contract.

Live data feeds
The verification pipeline is public. Every re-read, every changed rule and every flag lands in these, so an integration can react to a rule change instead of re-polling the whole dataset.

Rule changes (Atom) is the subscribable version of the same feed, and /transparency publishes coverage, citation counts and freshness computed from the dataset actually being served.
Limits and fair use
Free checks are capped per IP per day, per network, and by a worldwide daily ceiling shared across this site, the free API and every embedded widget. When a cap is reached the response is 429 with a scope field naming which one, plus Retry-After and X-RateLimit-Reset headers — all daily buckets reset at midnight UTC. The paid endpoints are not rate limited. Building something that needs more than the free tier allows: api@canienter.com.
