The revised measures were approved by Cabinet on 19 May 2026 and published in the Royal Gazette on 31 August 2026: the 60-day exemption is revoked for all 93 countries/territories; the 30-day tourism exemption list is expanded to 60 countries/territories; a new 15-day tourism exemption applies to 2 (Mauritius and Seychelles); and visa on arrival is reduced to 3 (Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia), with India moved off visa on arrival onto the 30-day exemption and all 27 EU member states covered by it. Only one visa exemption scheme applies per country/territory. Eligible passport holders may enter under the visa exemption only twice within a calendar year; an extension of stay of up to 30 days may be requested from the Immigration Bureau. Travellers already in Thailand, or arriving before 15 September 2026, may stay until their permitted period expires.
